海外・帰国生へのメッセージ
帰国生に対する入学後のクラス配置・授業体制は一般生（国内生）と異なっていますか。
クラス配置・授業体制は同じです。国内生と同じクラスの方が、授業や毎日の生活に早く慣れることができると考えているからです。国内生との日々の交流の中で日本の文化を理解し、楽しく学校生活を送って欲しいと考えています。その中で、授業内容に未消化部分があったり、日本語に不安を感じたりした時には、国際教育センターおよび国際塾の教員が、一人ひとりのニーズにあった丁寧な学習サポートを実施しています。
帰国生に対する英語の授業は一般生（国内生）と異なっていますか。
高度な英語力を持った生徒を対象に、一部の英語授業では通常と別カリキュラムの授業をおこないます。また、校内に「国際塾」を設けていますので、「海外で身につけた英語力をキープしたい」「さらに向上させたい」というニーズにも対応可能です。「国際塾」は国内の外国語学部や総合政策学部をはじめ、本校と提携している海外の大学への進学を想定し、ディスカッションやプレゼンテーションにも対応できる高い英語運用能力を養成するための講座です。平日放課後（3回）と土曜日放課後の計4回、無料で実施されています。英語のみで行われる3段階のレベル別講座で、ぜひ英語の力を磨いて下さい。
帰国生に対してキャッチアップとしての補習授業を行っていますか。
日本語指導が必要な帰国生には、日本語（国語）力を測定するテストを実施した上で、補習授業を行います。また、学習方法について不安を感じる生徒には、国際教育センターの教員と担任が連携をとり合い、各授業に積極的に参加できるようなアドバイスやフォローアップを行っています。また国際塾受講生には毎週土曜日にオフィスアワーが設置されていますので、英語での相談やアドバイスも可能です。
帰国生が入学後、彼らを指導する上でもっとも気をつけていることは何ですか。
良い意味で、特別扱いをしないことです。本校では長年の異文化理解教育が浸透していますので、国内生も帰国生に対してとてもフレンドリーです。そのためか、帰国生のクラスへの適応も大変スムーズです。海外での貴重な異文化体験を生かしながら、日本の文化もより深く学び吸収して欲しい…そんな思いを持って指導しています。
帰国生に望む「海外で学んできてほしいこと」は何ですか。
グローバルな視点で物事を考える基礎を学んできて欲しいと思っています。異なる言語が存在するように、異なる文化が存在することを、ぜひ身をもって体験してきて欲しいと思っています。
帰国生が入学するにあたって、事前にしっかり認識しておいてほしいことは何ですか。
自分が選ぶ学校の教育方針や、教育内容について、保護者や学校の先生としっかりと相談して欲しいと思います。学校案内や関連資料を調べることも大切です。将来の自分の進路にとってどのような学校が最適なのか、よく検討して欲しいと思います。
帰国生やその家族に伝えたいことがあればお書きください。
文京学院は2011年に創立87周年を迎えた伝統ある女子校です。「誠実・勤勉・仁愛」を校訓とし、自立し共生できる女性の育成に力を入れています。全体として明るく穏やかな生徒が多く、学業はもちろん、委員会活動や部活動にも積極的です。女子校ではリーダーも副リーダーも女子生徒です。落ち着いた環境の中で、それぞれが個性を伸ばし、充実した学校生活を送れると思います。また、長年続けている異文化理解教育によって、国内生は海外に大変関心を持っています。帰国生には、自身の貴重な異文化体験を、ぜひ国内生に伝えて欲しいと思います。
帰国生が入学するにあたって、必ず喜んでもらえそうなことはなんですか。
本校生徒たちの温かく柔らかい雰囲気はもちろんですが、特に国際理解教育に力を注いできた本校の校風にも満足していただけると思います。毎年、海外からの留学生も在籍し、校内には国際理解の基礎が育まれています。また本校は、JR線や南北線、三田線が利用でき、巣鴨駅、駒込駅のどちらからも徒歩5分と、交通アクセスにめぐまれた場所にあります。駅からの通学路も閑静な住宅地であり、毎日安心して通学していただけます。六義園の緑を借景に、明るい光と風につつまれた校舎で、充実した学校生活を送ることができると思います。
帰国生に対しての具体的な受験準備のアドバイスをお願いします。

中学校を卒業すると同時に、父の転勤先であるシンガポールに行き、現地のインターナショナルスクールで１年間学びました。この１年間の経験は、私にとって本当に貴重なものとなっています。
シンガポールは多民族国家のため、様々な人種の人びとが生活し、文化や宗教、感性の違いを目の当たりする機会が多くありました。そのような環境の中で、英語が公用語である現地で学べたことで、英語の力がつき、いろいろな国の人たちと交流できるようになったのは大きな喜びと自信につながっています。帰国後も、この経験を忘れたくないと思うのはもちろん、日本人として日本の知識や文化をより多く学びたいと思いました。
文京学院では、毎日の課題であるペン習字、週１回の運針、希望者への茶道・華道の放課後講座など、日本にいても忘れてしまう日本文化に触れるチャンスがたくさんあります。
私は入学すると同時に、「国際塾」に入りました。Super AdvancedのWritingとAdvancedのListening& Speakingの講座を受講しています。先生方は、全員がネイティブスピーカーであり、授業もすべて英語で行われます。そのため、シンガポールで身につけたListening力、Speaking力を維持でき、より磨くことができます。また、一方的に講義を受ける一斉授業とは異なり、さまざまな友達と意見を言い合いながら授業が進められていくのは、とてもよい刺激になっています。英語力が磨かれていっているのが実感できます。
このような充実した毎日を送れているのも文京学院に出会えたからこそだと思います。卒業するまでの１年間も大切に過ごしていきたいです。

I lived in China and the Philippines for six years after leaving Japan with my family when I was in fourth grade. In ninth grade, I came back to Japan and studied in a public junior high school in Tokyo. The English lessons in the school were quite easy for me because I had already learned those things abroad. Honestly, as time passed, I was afraid that I couldn’t develop my English skills if I continued studying in Japan.
When the time came to decide which senior high school to enter, it was very hard for me to find a school that could meet my needs. But, fortunately, I found Bunkyo Girls’ Senior High School. I heard that they had started to accept returnee students. When I visited the school and walked around, I felt very comfortable because the facilities and the environment of the school were great, so I decided to enter Bunkyo.
I’m very satisfied studying in Bunkyo. At first, I was worried about keeping up with the regular Japanese classes, but all the teachers are nice to returnee students and help us whenever we have problems. Bunkyo provides special Japanese classes for returnee students after school if needed. It also has an after school English program called “Kokusai Juku.” It’s divided into 5 levels so that students can be placed in the appropriate class. In my class, there are many returnee students, so I feel very comfortable. While talking with them, I can learn many new interesting things. The teachers are very friendly, reliable, and fun. Every time I attend “Kokusai Juku,” I feel like I’m studying abroad. Although the lessons are difficult sometimes, I think it’s a very nice way to develop my English skills. Attending this class also helps me to become more confident in English. I really love this class!

My family and I lived in Vancouver, Canada for 5 years. I went to the local preschool when I was 3 years old. After that, I went to the local kindergarten and elementary school on weekdays, and I went to the Vancouver Japanese School on Saturdays. After I came back to Tokyo, I went to a public elementary school. Also, I took lessons at a language school to maintain my English skills.
When I started thinking about which junior high school I should choose, I knew I would like a school where I could improve my English skills. It was hard to find a good school, but I found Bunkyo Girls’ Junior High School. It has many returnee students, so I thought it would be a good place to learn. Also, our school has an after school English class called Kokusai Juku. It is very interesting. The teachers in Kokusai Juku are very helpful and reliable. They always say, “Please ask any question any time.” I was a little nervous at first, but now I enjoy the class very much.
I think that it is necessary to have a lot of opportunities to speak English. I’ll try hard to be able to speak English fluently. Also, English skills will be a great advantage for my future. Kokusai Juku is the best way to improve my English.

For two years I lived in Hong Kong and went to an international school. At first I couldn’t speak English at all, so it was difficult to get used to the school, but I think I had valuable experiences that I wouldn’t have been able to have in Japan, such as making friends from different countries and speaking English in my daily life.
When I came back to Japan, I searched for schools where I could brush up my English because I wanted to keep my English skills as well as improve them. Then I found Bunkyo Girls’ Junior High School.
Our school has Kokusai Juku. I take three classes: Listening & Speaking, Reading and Writing. Also, I take an advanced English course with other returnee students. I enjoy these classes a lot.I think that I’m able to improve my English skills because we can learn new things, and we have a lot of chances to speak English. Since I entered our school, I have made a lot of friends and I am enjoying my school life.

I was born in Sri Lanka and lived there for ten years in total. There I attended an international school, where I mainly spoke English. However, when my family and I returned to Japan, I did not have many opportunities to speak English. It was upon entering Bunkyo Gakuin that I again had a chance to use my English.
Among the many programs at Bunkyo Gakuin, there is a program called Kokusai Juku. In this program there are five levels for studying listening, reading, writing and speaking. Having a native English speaker as our teacher, we were able to focus on correct pronunciation and intonation.
As part of another program, this summer I spent two weeks in the U.K. During my time there, I took English lessons in the morning and visited many places in the afternoon, such as Caernarfon Castle and Slate Museum. It was my first time in Europe so it was a very good and new experience for me. I noticed that all the people there are very friendly and kind. Upon returning to Japan, I noticed a significant improvement in my English ability.
In the coming year, I will also take part in the Rotary Exchange program. As part of that program, I will spend one year studying abroad. I do not yet know to which country I will be going, but I believe which ever country it will be, it will be a good chance to experience a new culture and give me good preparation for college.

I was in California for 6 years with my family. I went to the local school and learned many things that I would not be able to learn in Japan. I think that I had a great experience having friends who came from different countries like me. Also, I was able to enjoy American holidays and its culture.
Since I came back to Japan this January, I’ve kept my English skills but I wanted to improve them. I also wanted to learn more about Japanese culture. Then I searched for schools and found “Bunkyo”. “Bunkyo” had “Kokusai Juku”, and tea ceremony and flower arrangement classes. I realized that this was the school I was looking for.
After entering “Bunkyo”, I’ve made a lot of friends. I’m taking an advanced English course with two other returnee students. It is fun because we are able to learn new things. Also, I enjoy tea ceremony and flower arrangement classes.
In the future, I want to get a job where I can make good use of English.

I lived in Hong Kong from 2007 to 2010 and learned English at an international school there. It was very difficult for me to understand English but my parents, teachers and friends helped me a lot, so now I’m able to understand English better than students in Japan.
I came back to Japan last year, and I went to a public school in Chiba for a year. Everything was OK except for the English class. It was too easy and I felt really bored during the class. So I decided to move to another school in which I can learn more difficult English. I searched for schools on the Internet and then I found Bunkyo. In Bunkyo, there is an after-school English program called “Kokusai Juku”. There are five levels in Kokusai Juku, from basic to super advanced. All the classes are conducted in English so we students have to speak English as well. Thanks to Kokusai Juku, I can spend time using and improving my English.
I am enjoying my school life in Bunkyo. At first I was very nervous, but all the students are very kind to me so I like this school. Also, I enjoy learning new vocabulary and grammar in Kokusai Juku. I think that my English is better than when I was in Hong Kong. My dream is to enter a university in America. To make my dream come true, I will study English hard in this school.

私は生まれてから12年間、ルクセンブルグに住んでいました。ルクセンブルグではインターナショナルスクールに通い、いろいろな国の文化と日本の文化との違いを学びました。帰国後、身につけた英語を維持したいと思い、英語を専門とする中学校のクラスに入りました。その後、「日本の勉強もしっかりと身に付け、かつ英語のスキルを上げたい」と思っていた私が入学したのが文京学院でした。文京学院には「国際塾」という放課後に行われる塾があります。私はこの「国際塾」に惹かれました。今は英語クラスに所属し、日々の勉強はもちろん、運針やペン習字といった日本の伝統に触れる活動も行いながら、放課後にSuper Advanced(主に帰国子女、高校3年が入る)という「国際塾」のクラスに入っています。授業はほとんど英語で行い、ライティングやリスニングなども基礎から身につけることができます。ネイティブの先生もいらっしゃるので、発音などを丁寧に学ぶこともできてうれしいです。英語が学べる環境が整っているので、安心して、また自身をもって英語の勉強に励むことができます。

I returned to Japan this March after living in Singapore for 13 years. I’d gone to an International School for 11 years, so I was really excited to experience a whole different life in a Japanese school but at the same time I was worried that I might forget English. However, Bunkyo had Kokusai Juku, where students study advanced English after school. I wanted to improve my English, so I thought it is good to learn new vocabulary and grammar in Kokusai Juku class in Bunkyo.
Now, two months have passed since I entered Bunkyo and I have already made a lot of friends. My classmates are friendly. There are returnees who have lived abroad for a long time like me. Therefore, I can often speak English with them so that we all can improve our English speaking skills. I think Bunkyo is a great school for returnees to enjoy school life and study advanced English.

私は中１から中３までの３年間をパナマで過ごしました。パナマの母国語はスペイン語なので英語を使う機会はなかったのですが、日本人学校では、現地校との交流があり、英語を使ってバディと話したり、実際に現地の授業を体験したりしました。バディの子と話す中で、自分の言いたいことが相手に伝わった時は本当にうれしかったです。他には学習発表会で３年間、英語劇を行っていました。中３の時はみんなと一緒に日本語で台本を作り、それを自分たちで少しずつ英語に訳していきました。英語の言い回し等も覚えることができ、楽しかったです。やり終わった達成感は今でも忘れられません。
帰国後も英語に力を入れて勉強をしたいと思い、英語教育に力を入れている文京学院を訪ね、国際塾の話を聞いて入学を決めました。はじめは不安でいっぱいでしたが、友達と住んでいた国のことや経験したこと等を話していくうちに仲良くなることができました。今は、普段の英語の授業の他に国際塾も続けています。スピーキングに力をいれた英語力を高めていきたいと思います。
